What colour should I have?

Post by owen316 »

Hi guys and gals, Im a newbie here, this is my first post so go easy on me lol. I've test driven the scirocco, but to be honest I like it that much Id of ordered one without having a go.I having a DSG one, xenon headlights and the winter pack. The only thing that is stopping me from placing my order is I seriously can't decide what colour I want it in!I think black and rising blue look the best, however I Think rising blue will be the most common colour, and makes it look a bit 'regular' and black is just a bit of a pain to live with rearding scratches etc. Im also considering venom green to stand out a bit, but Iv not seen one in person, and all the photos Iv seen of it look diferent. I just cant decide what I want, and I want to get it ordered as soon as possible! Can anyone think of anyways to help me make my mind up!? Thanks for listening to my slightly stupid rant :D

viper green a brave choice, fortune is meant to favour the brave, whether residuals do is another matter, you'd certainly be noticed, you thought about white?

Yer I do like the while,it shows the cars lines off a bit more, but I dont think it looks as 'agressive'.And I think the car has that sort of agressive look about it, again, the black is really the only colour that shows it off.

A friend of mine would be right up there with you on buying Viper Green. He loves the stand out colours.

Have you seen the drivers republic video? That car is green. Might give you a better idea of how it looks in the metal.

Hi all

I`m in same dilema, today is d-day and the dealer wants my colour choice today at 6pm at latest to get me my build slot. Its between black and rising blue, rising blue looks different to any other car colour so you know its a scirroco at first glance, however with black trim rather than colour coded trim the misses thinks it looks a bit naff, plus she thinks I may get bored of the colour in a year or so, shes got a point i really hate that R32 colour that kind of resembles the rising blue. Black however gets dirty quick, you can see scrathes easily and it swirls after cleaning. however it looks colour coded with the trim and looks the nuts when its clean.

I`ve ordered the sunroof, saw a blue with sunroof today and it looks pants. Think i am going to opt for Pearlescent black, manual, panoramic sunroof, tyre pressure indicating, mats, black leather interior and am pondering on the dynoaudio sound system??? The standard set up is really good, played various types of music on it and could not fault the standard system, will i regret not getting the sound upgrade system? i know i def won`t get my money back upon re-selling is it really worth 400 pounds? also opted out of sat nav and rear parking sensors never had it before so can`t see the reason for getting it now, may just save that money to buy the alloys available on the european spec, they look briliiant, the twin spoked ones.

two hours and counting help.

Well as good as it looks in that video, I think we can count viper green out of the equation. I think Im ight just stick with black, it does look very very good in it!

having seen both in the flesh I would go for the black personally but at the end of the day

With regards to the sunroof I was 100% certain on getting it until I actually saw it and from some angles it just looked wrong have the roof being black. However I finally saw it on a black demo and it blends in perfectly, did not even realise it was there till I was inside the car and I have to say it does may the car feel alot more open.

i agree i don't like the sunroof on the rising blue or other light colours, i went for parking sensors as i do alot of city and on street parking and regret not having them on my a3, on the demo i tried (it did have sat nav so not sure if this works on the normal) it shows you a graphic of the rear and the sensors fields, a bit of a gimic but in a good way. given the relatively low cost of the car and the excellant standard euipment I went for the dynaudio with the dab upgrade, i am looking forawrd to trying out the prodigy's fat of the land, my trusty tomtom one v4 will keep me on the straight and narrow

I am facing a similar dilemma, I am going to place my order on Friday but still undecieded on colour. Black looks great and I agree with the comments about the sunroof, you don't even know its there till you get it! Was also tempted by rising blue though as black has that reputation and is hard to keep clean etc. How about halfway, does anyone have any comments on Shadow Blue? its in the brochure but i can't find anyone who has one in the flesh. Seen other VWs (Passat) in the colour but would really like to see what the Scirocco looks like if I am gonnna spend the cash.

I was going for the DSG, Leather interior, Flat tyre sensors, parking sensors, DAB radio update, Electric folding mirrors and maybe the sunroof.

Has anyone seen the cloth interior? I have only seen leather but could do with saving 1.5k if the cloth is good.

I'd be really interested to know what delivery date they forecast for you.

I'm trying to time my order for a May delivery but I'm not sure yet on when to actually order it.

Just wondering if it's semi-photoshoppable by darkening a rising blue picture.

Regarding delivery, my conversations with the dealer last week when getting all the info was that I could expect a late december delivery, this may slip into January now I guess as I have spent a week and a bit looking at colours and options etc but will confirm the provisional delivery time.

Yeah I see what you mean, checked out some of the colours on the french site someone posted, although the pictures are not in the flesh pictures I think that at the very least, I will have a different colour to everyone else.

Looks similar to some of the pics on the french equivilent forum posted a while ago - I think I am starting to like it :-)

Still 2 more days to change my mind again though!
