Pewter Grey discontinued. Replaced with Indium Grey?
Hi, I've just received a phone call from my VW dealer in relation to my order for a Pewter Grey Scirocco. Apparently, VW are no longer making the Scirocco in Pewter Grey and have replaced the Pewter Grey with a new colour called Indium Grey. Has anyone seen the new colour? Thanks.

I chose shadow blue back at the end of March. I was told that it was not avalible so I went with Black - cant go wrong with Black and it was my second choice.gjedger wrote:Hi, I've just received a phone call from my VW dealer in relation to my order for a Pewter Grey Scirocco. Could be just a name change - Pewter Grey is known as "Beryllium Grey" on the continent.

Yes Pewter and Shadow are being dropped for silver leaf, night blue and indium grey.
There will also be some other tweaks rumoured include keyless entry.

Hi, I've just found the new colours in the new Sharan brochure on the German website. I'm still not sure whether I've chosen the right colour though because the colours in the brochure sometimes don't reflect the exact colour. I've originally went for Indium Grey because I thought it would be like Pewter Grey....Might have to change it to Night Blue now...Decisions, decisions :o(

Re: Pewter Grey discontinued. Replaced with Indium Grey?
you do have to remember that the brochure colours are very poor representations of the actual colours, in the brochure (& on the configurator) sumatra looks like boring mink colour for example but is actually imo similar to steel grey in most lights
i'll have a google for actual car pics again...

So, opal silever ->silver leaf(on Golf 6, also)
pewter grey ->indium grey
shadow blue ->midnight blue.
The differences are very small and for the untrained eye they look the same.

The Indium Grey pic looks very different to Pewter Grey.
The indium looks to have a greenish/petrol tinge to it, whereas the Pewter has a blue/purple tinge.

Yes, the brochure pictures are poor and it confuses matters further if you look at the existing Pewter picture from the Scirocco brochure. Why do they put the strange shadow across the picture, is that meant to help you see what the colour is like?gjedger wrote:Hi, I've just found the new colours in the new Sharan brochure on the German website. Re: Pewter Grey discontinued. Replaced with Indium Grey?
Thank you for all the replies......after a lot of thinking.....I've eventually opted for the new Night Blue :o) Shadow Blue was my second choice originally and I think the Night Blue will be a safer bet than the Indium Grey. Now....just got to wait until July to get my hands on it :o) Thanks again!

I've just added the new colours to the profile options. They seem a good bet they'll be added to the colour chart

I've just added the full list of changes to the roccopedia
MY2011 (introduced at week 22 of 2010)
* Second ESP lamp in instrument cluster so there are separate on/off lights.
* Flat tyre indicator fitted as standard on cars with 17" and 18" wheels.
* Mobility self-sealing tyres standard.
* Hill hold function added to all manual gearbox cars (already standard on DSG).
* Opal Silver, Pewter Grey and Shadow Blue colours discontinued.
* Silver Leaf, Indium Grey and Night Blue colours added.
* 1.4 160PS TSI - TSI badge is now all red instead of just a red S and I.
* Scirocco R - Tyre repair kit replaced with a space-saving spare wheel.

Re: Pewter Grey discontinued. Replaced with Indium Grey?
I cant decide whether I am happy or not about the R Tyre....
Secondly, the hill hold will take some mental adjustment on a manual! Quite glad I am week 27, although they are hardly crazy changes.
