Detailing Recommendations

Post by peters »

Hi, I'm due to take delivery of a met black Scirocco R in late summer. What are the recommendations re detailing and approximately how much should I budget. Also how long will it last, is it just a temporary improvement over the short term, or can I expect the car to remain relatively clean over the longer term and through winter. Finally is there anything that can be applied to protect from vanadlism/keying. Thanks

Detailing will definately make a difference to the overall finish of your car. I got a professional detailer into do a new prep on my car. I'm also having Paintshield fitted to certain sections of my car to stop damage to the paintwork. This is an invisable film which can be applied to the whole car or to certain sections.

I'm having the whole front covered to stop stone chips - bumper, full bonnet, wings, wing mirrors. I'm also having the doors covered to eliminate car park marks. They will also do over the rear wheel arches, sills and along the rear boot strip these are main areas where scuffs can occur.

They picked my car up this week from the dealership and transported it directly to Peterborough where they are based. I'm picking the car up on Wednesday to drive back to Ipswich!! :)

Auto perfection do a good guide to detailing your car and the various stages you need to go through!!
