Went out in one on Saturday...

...OMG WHAT A CAR!!!
Wasn't allowed to drive it on their insurance policy as you have to be 25! lol
Gonna get a private insurance cover note and get back down there this week for sure.

Even in the passenger seat, this car is awesome...
The DSG is probably the shining feature of this car. Without it, I really dont think you should bother.
I know a few of you with DSG on 2.0TSI have seaid that it pops on upshift. Well this REALLY pops on upshift!
In fact, the stock exhaust burbles and pops quite a bit! That really suprised me actually.

Another thing that is suprising is the side sills. they really protrude quite a bit!

The only real dissapointment was just how similar the car is to a normal Roc...
You could very easily take a 2.0TSI and get it too look exactly the same as a Roc R inside for easily £300 (not including the dials...). Marry that to the fact that Niche are doing an exterior conversion package for £1760 inc. VAT and for a touch over £2000, you have a car that looks identical to a Roc R...

Yeh, yeh "its not the same" but can this really be ignored? Thats nearly a saving of £3000, money that, if you were so inclined, could go towards a big turbo conversion kit to take you close to 350bhp anyways. And the 2.0TSI is a newer, cleaner, more economical engine...

I'd probs still go for an R, but it would certianly play on my mind everytime I saw a 2.0TSI... right before planting my foot ahhaahahahahah! lol

You would be missing Xenons, Running lights, Bigger breaks, XDS the R suspension set up, exhaust, R logo sill inserts, R Logo for steering wheel, Talladegas, Deeper R Seats, Car Mats, Tyre Flat indicator, winter pack (black Mirrors unless you get a black one :P) so I think your £3k to get it looking like an R is optimistic.

I think if you were buying a GT and wanted it to look and perform like an R it would cost you far more than just buying a R in the first place. It would not cost a great deal to get the R to push out 360 BHP, Turbo Back Exhaust Fuel pump and maybe some induction. But to get the 2.0l GT to get that sort of power would cost allot
My sisters 2.0l GT was only 4k less than my R and I added Dynaudio sat nav and 19"

Does the niche conversion include the bigger rear spoiler ?

Mine should be here tomorrow :D

the one i was in didn't have a button for this? is it definatley a standard option?

it doesn't say it includes it so im guessing it would be an optional extras, as is the LED running lights.

Is the rear spoiler bigger that a GT's? Looking ast the other pics of the R on here it looks the same. I guess I may need my eyes testing...

Regarding getting a Gt to look like an R, yes you could be it would still be a GT. ;-)
