Fiscon Pro - again

Post by hama »

Hi guys,

I've had a look through the previous forum entries about the Fiscon Pro aftermarket bluetooth system but I've got a couple of queries I haven't seen answered...

1) The Fiscon Pro support folk say that they install their microphone near the sunvisor, running it up the a column (the wire it seems must be installed behind the airbag there). They say that if I wanted it in the head unit on the roof, I'd have to make sure it was "isolated" somehow, for reasons of "noise" which I'm taking to electrical inference from the other components there. My question (eventually!) is whether anyone has installed it in this area successfully?

2) Getting it installed: anyone know of any reputable installers of the Fiscon system in particular in Central Scotland? I'm a wee bit nervous about installing it myself especially with the requirement for the wire to sit behind the airbag in the A-column.

Cheers guys

I don't know about installers I have just ordered one of these. I was planning to run the cable for the microphone under the window seal in front of the airbag. Be interested to know what people think of this as a plan. Other than this the installation looks easy. Famous last words!

If the car was factory fitted with a microphone the fitter will tap into it. This is not the case with all VAG models but some models have it in the loom as it cuts down the number of parts on the build which is cheaper (particurly as the loom goes in early in most car builds).
