Servicing & Engine Oil

Post by AndyInGlasgow »

Hi,

Getting my 2.0 GTI TSI DSG on Monday.

Was just wondering id it's a fixed 1year/10,000 miles servicing schedule?

Also, what grade of engine oil is recommended for the 2.0 TSI (210PS).

Cheers

Andy

re the servicing schedule your car will let you know when it needs doing, it depends what sort of driving you do & whichever comes first
& see here for what engine oil.

You can decide, but you need to tell the sales peeps you want long life servicing so they can set it up or they usually will default it to 12 months. They will advise on the choice based on your driving mileage & how driven (short or long journeys) per annum.

The oil you need depends on which servicing schedule you end up on. Time/distance oil is diferent from long life oil.

It'll be longlife oil put in at the factory though, and set to longlife by default at the factory.

Dealer will most likely change service from longlife to 10000 mile/annual unless you tell them you want the long life (they'd rather have the regular income from annual servicing).

when i origionlly order my car i enquired about fixed priced servicing, as they had an offer on for golf and the like but not sciroccos.

the price i was quoted by the finance guy in vw, was,

£6.95 per month totaling around £85 per year,

have read previous post about servicing with long life and annual, does this seem like a good offer, i think so aslong as they set the car up for annual as opposed to long life
