I collected it at 9am yesterday, drove it straight to work, got home late and left at 5.40 this morning for work... :-( no pics but I will get the miltek and fiscon fitted tomorrow morning and get some pics.

I am loving it, it is much nicer nicer than I remembered form the test drive. Even keeping the rev's down it seems to be quite lively (I did think that coming from my 330 I might find it a little slow)

Did they make any other changes apart from the later dash on the MY2010 model cars?

The car feels really planted. I think it is going to be a lot of fun hooning around in it.

Still trying to decide on which remap to go for. Heart says Revo, head says super chips... (this is because it is unlikely the car will be with me for too long as I have a habit of turning my cars round quite quickly.)

Anyway pics tomorrow!

Well the weather still hasn’t meant I have been able to get some pics of my new car posted up. I have the valeter coming on the 6th March for get rid of the swirls etc so hopefully the weather will hold and I will be able to get some up then.

But I thought I would share my experiences with the car for the 10 days I have owned it.

So far I have covered 1400 miles in it, have fitted the Fiscon bluetooth module, had it bluefin’d and fitted the Milltek non res exhaust. Still to go on are the Forge quickshift which is sat in my garage.

To do - decide what air filter, intake I want and to upgrade the headlights, order a set of the Gti pedals and decide if I want to lower it or not (I do but dont know if I can be bothered). Further down the road if I can arrange it I would like to get the interior leathered, I am away on holiday at the beginning of May so this would be an ideal time me thinks!

Initial thoughts on the car: I knew I liked driving after the test drive but that was 6 months ago. I am not sure if they have made any changes to the car apart from cosmetic but the reality of driving my new car far out weighs my memory. That’s even with the crappy dunlop's that the car came with an offer little grip (I am hoping they will be better as it gets warmer)

I had thought I would miss my 330 coupe but so far I haven't! I love the looks of the car, the driving position is spot on although it took me quite a while to find the right driving position.

The performance of the standard car even taking it easy during the running in has been impressive. Plenty of urge even on a light throttle although I always knew it would be remapped.

So far on my commute to work which is either 90 or 150 miles depending on which site I am visiting is enjoyable. Even stuck in traffic yesterday for 4 hours after an accident at stockley I arrived home happy ~(that could be due to the finally 10 miles of my commute are over some very fast A and B roads...) and still quite fresh.

The quality of the interior is also pretty good, the dash has a nice soft feel to it, the new style steering wheel is pleasant to hold although could do with being a bit thicker (personal pref) With the on exception, why on earth did they choose to use a hard tacky plastic for the centre console with the open cup holders. I know this can be swapped out for the Golf version but is a definite sign of cost cutting in the rocco.

The changes I have made.

Fiscon: The first thing I did was to fit the Fiscon bluetooth unit. Big thumbs up to the chaps on here, I used the discount code to order over the web and the unit was with me the next day. Fitting was simplicity itself. 10 minutes and it was in and working. I didn't realise that the 2010 cars need coding so it was only friday that I had this done. Not q big deal it just means you control the phone functions via the headunit and not the steering wheel. So far the kit has been perfect with my iPhone.

Bluefin: I decided on the bluefin remap in the end as I am not really a traffic light junky, 10-20 years ago maybe, plus being able to swap maps at home was also a selling point along with value for money. I ordered the unit on the Wednesday it was with me on Thursday and I had the new map in the car by 8.15 on Friday morning. To say the car has been transformed is an understatement. The difference is like night and day, even more so after piling a few more miles on the car. The only downside of this remap is that it has highlighted how pants the tyres are.

Miltek non res exhaust: After remapping the car I put about 100 miles on the car just hooning it around before coming home and deciding I would fit the exhaust to see if it made a difference or not. Fitting the miltek was nice and straight forward. Took less than an hour start to finish including straightening up the tailpipes after initial fitting. I was a little concerned the non res exhaust would be too noisy on my commute. I shouldn't have worried. In normal day to day driving it is fine and not really much louder than stock. On the motor way if you turn the stereo off and labor the car at 80mph it does a little but not to the point that it is too noisy. The bonus being it seems to have made the car a little more lively although this could be the remap settling in and the engine freeing up as the miles are piled one.

And without realising it I appear to have written war and peace so I will stop there!

If anyone is still reading this and contemplating getting one I say do it you will not be disappointed. And to top that my 3 year old boy thinks the car is great. What better endorsement than that do you need.
