As I've mentioned before on here, I'm not getting my car until start of January. By my own choice i'm holding out til after 1st Jan so i can get it registered as 2010.
Today though i went to dealer to pay the balance before VAT increases in January. It's not taxed so I couldn't drive it on public roads but i got to take it for a spin around the industrial estate where the dealership is....one mile long road that sweeps in a huge curve.
All i can say is i've still got a grin on my face now and i came back from the dealers about 4 hours ago!!
Can't wait to get back hands on it properly!
Just had my first drive in MY car!

I'm from N. Ireland but live in Scotland. My folks still live in NI. The VW Salesman is a friend of mine and is giving me a very good deal for the car so I've ordered it in NI. New cars are registered in N.I. from 1st January so I'm getting it registered as 2010. Didn't see the point in taking it 4 weeks before the end of the year and losing a lot of money just by getting it registered as 2009. My current car is fine so it'll do me another couple of weekslittleyellowspider wrote:Why?Scirocco Bhoy wrote:As I've mentioned before on here, I'm not getting my car until start of January. I'm not that bothered to be honest. I'm back home in NI for christmas and happy just tootling about in my old Audi for the last while. Will get my hands in it next week.Candy Monster wrote:your mate should be able to take you out on trade plates if your gagging for more...
Was up with him today paying the final balance for the car (cherished reg and sill trims). they had Ronnie O'Sullivan's VW Passat Racing Car in for a motor show/sale thing they were doing. Never sat in a more uncomfortable seat in my life and what a nightmare getting in and out of....and i'm not too big!
