Finally..........

Finally..... it's arrived!

After 13,564,800 seconds [157 days approx!] I've finally taken delivery of my Scirocco! Longest wait I've ever endured.

Was on holiday for a couple of weeks and sods law said it'd arrive then, guess what, IT DID!!

Had it two days now, done a round 100 miles and mostly all in order.

Glad to have given the dealer their Jetta back, not my kinda car, but served it's purpose well.

Mine was a week 44 build and came with the 510 head unit fitted so no worries there. It has frozen up on me once so far, failing to show the reversing diagram and failing to recognise my iPod Mini. Both worked fine before and again after a power down and re start. Will be keeping my eye on that one!

Came with the new type steering wheel, a million times better than the one fitted to the demo car back in June.

Heating and climate controls are the ones with the blue LCD temperature display each side. This was the set up I liked so glad that was as ordered.

My dealer threw in some carpet mats and a tank of fuel FOC. Thank you - it all helps.

Only gripe on collection was a scratch to the glove box lid which they have agreed to replace.

I also had the VW/Bury bluetooth hands free kit fitted as opposed to the VW Bluetooth preparation due mainly to compatibilty issues. Nice unit, very easy to use and well installed by the dealer at PDI. Sill plates also fitted at this time.

Having covered the first 100 miles in our splendid climate, I'm now debating front mud flaps - white car and all that. The front wheels throw the shite up all over the place, as far as the door handles no less. Can anyone post a piccy of front mud flaps please before I spend more dough. Don't really want them, especially if they look pants [ I know ALL mud flaps look pants but you get my drift ].

So, having been off work for the last couple of weeks I'm actually looking forward to going back. 70 mile round trip, all twisty A roads, 05:30 in the morning, DSG in manual mode, suspension on Sport - you can guess the rest!

Also, to the South Staffs Massive, let me know whats on and where, always up for a meet up and natter over a swift half.

Cheerio!

Steve

Yea have to agree with you there Steve on the shite as far as the doors
I have the genuine VW flaps fitted on the front & have to say the shite still comes as far as the door lol, personally don't like the rear flaps as I think they stick out too far past the rear bumper..

Deacon / Wigit,

I'm in Burntwood and my Ma lives in Four Oaks, so I'm always fliting between the two. The Bull at Shenstone springs to mind but I'll go anywhere for a chin wag and a pint!

Hey tomlindsey,

Which dealer did you use to make your purchase if you don't mind me asking?

Order placed with Ventura Park Tamworth, ordered mid July and was told today I can pick up next Thursday (17th)! Just in time for Xmas which is great because I have a fair bit of driving to do around north Wales where I know of some great roads.

I tried there but didn't have a great deal of luck. They didn't have a demo car and promised to ring me back on several occasions but never did. I got fed up of chasing them in the end and went to Ventura at Sutton Coldfield which is part of the same group! Had a much better experience there and placed my order with them.

Glad you had more joy than me.

I've had my car a week now, done 400 miles, and have to say it's quite simply amazing! Well worth the 157 days I waited.

Enjoy!

Ah that's not very good how they dealt with you. I had no problems, drove a demo car and placed an order straight away! At least you have your car now.
