Post by Drigbyy2k »

Could someone tell me what the "comm number" is and how I can get a hold of it?

Its the reference number given to your build slot by the factory. It is used to track the car all the way through the build/delivery process as chassis/reg numbers aren't generated until later in the process. The dealer could give you it but its of no use to you whatsoever!

Hope this helps.

Oh right, I thought i had read on here (can't find thread now) that if you have it you can phone vw directly and find out what stage your cars at (if your dealer is shy about giving you info, as mine is) is this right or wrong then?

With your Comm Number you can call VW Customer Service and ask them to update you on the build and delivery of your car.

See this old post for confirmation:
http://www.sciroccocentral.co.uk/forum/ ... f=2&t=3212" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I called my sales guy and asked him to email me the number (which he did). He's not very helpful so I wanted another way to find out information about my car. It's being built next week and I want to know where it's up to.

Hope this helps, Gary.

As Gary has comfirmed with your comm (comission) number you can speak to vw customer service & get an update on your order whether its in build or just on order & waiting to be built, they can advise what build week it is showing as on their system (which may differ from what your dealer has said, i think vwcs system is updated more often)
its very handy to have incase you fall out with your dealer along the way so get it now incase you do need to use it later
