Bluetooth issues with my 2011 sirocco

Post by brow1 »

Hi all, I have recently just bought a Volkswagen Sirocco 1.4 psi 2011. 9united kingdom)

having issues as it shows bt-audio but can't connect.

when I select the media button it takes me to our display showing CD, SD card, media-in, and BT-audio, when I tried to select another option none work and only the media in is highlighted. The others are grey as shown in the photos.

Would I need to get a MDI bluetooth module cable, and connect it into the port in my armrest, or use a Jack) what options or solutions have I got for this please?

On a 2011 Scirocco, Bluetooth was a cost option therefore I presume your car doesn't have the optional Bluetooth module that is normally located under the driver's seat. If you have the module you also have a phone menu within the MFD in the cluster.

When new the car came with 2 MDI cables, one to connect a USB stick and one to connect to an old style iPod.
If you want to play audio through the 3.5mm jack you select "aux-in" on the head unit.

You can also plug an SD Card into the front of the headunit and play music that way.
