Footwell and glove box lights
Anyone know how to change the bulbs in these? I've had a brief go at trying to remove the plastic cover but without success. It feels like I'm forcing it too much.
Any thoughts would be grateful.

As far as I know these are just held in by clips which are part of the lens. Get a screwdriver in there!.. carefully

Re: Footwell and glove box light
Are you replacing them with LEDs?
The glove box is fine but the footwells will need a resistor or and LED with the resistor built in...
I bought these for the reg plates, they are superb
The passenger side footwell, you can up your hand up behind it through the rubber cover under the glove box, the driver side requires the plastic panel to be removed 3 torx screws I remember,
To get the glove box out, u need a trim remover tool or a small screwdriver for glasses to get it out.
The lights are held in a metal box, you need to pries the side open to get to the bulb, very simple dont worry about breaking it - but do it in the house - one small slip and you'll rip your seats.
Without a resistor the footwells will cut off after 5 seconds, instead of staying on until the door closes and they will not fade out.
PS their W5W's

Can someone please tell me if the footwell lights, with the normal bulbs fitted, should fade out a short time after the door is closed?
Mine stay on all the time, always have done.
(The driver's side was not even fitted when the car was delivered - it had to go back under warranty for it to be installed - although the wiring was there)
Is there something in the MFD where this can be set up and I've missed it? - I know about the brightness adjustment.
Cheers,
Steve

I'd get the dealer to check yours and if your not confident in their response check the showroom model.

Re: Footwell and glove box lights
Rehmondo, thanks for the reply.
Just to be sure, when I say they are on all the time, this is with the ignition on, for example when you are driving along. Once the ignition is off and you've got out they go off. I assume they fade out at this point once the door is locked but I'm not sure.
I will check again later just to make sure I'm not going daft and so I've got my story straight when I take it in.

Sorry I wasn't really clear before - I checked the behavior later on that night....
Footwells remain on when door is opened and then closed, they fade out when I turn the ignition and then remain off until either the door is opened or the key is pulled out of the ignition and they are definitely never on when I'm actually driving - this has never been the case,
Hope that helps
