Central electric issue

Post by dsfsdfsas »

Hi all got a problem with the rear wiper and the front and back washers not working, it’s also stopped the cig lighter from working too, came up as short to ground on the washer pump in the vcds but since unplugging the sensor and plugging it in the codes gone.
Anyone had the same issue?

Not had this issue myself but have you checked the fuses?
Also, is the bonnet completely closed? I seem to remember reading somewhere the washers / wiper don’t work if the bonnet is not fully closed.

This may sound odd but try disconnecting the battery for a few mins and reconnecting it. That's been known to work instances like this. By doing so it resets the module.

Also be aware when you reconnect the battery a few warning lights will remain on until you drive the car a short distance to allow the Steering Angle Sensor to calibrate.
