Hi,
My scirocco 2009 2.0tdi is currently stripped. Suspected Thermostat sticking open. Was taking ages to warm up, temp reaching 90 underload but then dropping when not accelerating. Car shop have sold me a thermostat and gasket but no housing and don't believe the housing can be separated? Is this correct ? Engine is cbd. Thanks In advance for any replies...

Re: Thermostat
The thermostat 13 is clamped between the engine block and the coolant pipe 11.

Re: Thermostat
Hi thanks for your reply, i knew where it was located the job has been completed today. The issue I had was local car shop sold me a thermostat with no housing and were adamant the housing split to put the thermostat in. It turns out its a whole unit that is friction sealed. It's been a nightmare of a job for someone who has never fixed one but car is now sitting nicely at 90... its been a headache....
