Running Temperature

Post by spent force »

My 2015 Scirocco R gets up 90oC then fluctuates between 90 and 105. The fans allways start when the car is switched off. Its reasonably cool up here in Cairns at the moment but I'm concerned for summer. My golf gti gets to 90oC and stays there no matter what . Do all Sciroccos do this or do I have a problem ?? thx guys.

The coolant temperature gauge is "corrected" to display 90 when the actual temperature is in the range 75 and 105. It is possible using VCDS to remove this feature and for the gauge to display real time temperature and will fluctuate as you describe. Assuming this has not been done and the fact you say your fans are running after you switch the car off, I would suggest you have an issue that needs investigated.

Did you get this sorted? Just had the same issue and it was the thermostat housing leaking coolant
