From production to delivery

My dealer VW Willenhall tell me that my car is now built. Can anybody tell me how long cn I expect it to be delivered, and is is true that it has to be shipped to Germany first? :shrug:

3-4 weeks is normal, depends on how it fits with the shipping schedules.

As for going via Germany.... personally I don't see why they would do that, but stranger things happen.

i believe they go via germany for final checks..

Yep back to Germany then it will ship out of Emden.

In my case it took just 2 wks from end of build wk to delivery to the dealer in nottingham !! well impressed with that one !! good luck !!

I was told to expect 3-4 weeks from being built to getting in it but in the end it took just over 2 weeks.
Amazing seeing all those cars on Google maps. Funny how most of them are arranged by colour.

I think they ship it to Germany for ppl who wanna visit Autostadt an collect their car there, probably also for a last check.

shipping to germany (certainly for uk orders) was put on hold during the height of the production output/order period once they had been building the model for a reasonable amount of time to reduce delays & get orders completed quicker.
don't think they have reinstated it (for uk orders)

The spot hire ships are stood down (anchored) at the moment for working the direct passage to Sheerness. Just the main carrier operating Setabul - Emden, then most likely Grimsby.
