Afternoon all,
I had my 2010 scirocco away to the local body shop to get some rust patches seen to, the local body shop informed me that this may be covered under the 12 year body work warranty (as he think this is caused by the inner plastic arches rubbing) so had it booked in to my local VW garage, this warrant claim has been rejected as VW stated
“As background, Volkswagen provided a three year paint warranty and a 12 year anti-perforation warranty. All Volkswagen passenger cars are provided with a warranty for a period of 3 years from the date of first registration against any manufacturing defects with the paintwork. All current Volkswagen vehicles are fully protected during manufacture against through corrosion for 12 years from the date of first registration. For clarity, 'through corrosion' is corrosion that starts from within the metal and works its way to the outside of the panel due to a manufacturing defect.“
Has anyone else had or heard similar issues before I push this matter further with VW.
Many thanks
Martin
