The TSI gets the MK6 Engine

The scirocco R gets the mk5 Edition 30/S3 8P engine

Interesting.

So the TSI has the dodgy timing chain tensioner, same as our EOS

Yeah The older ones need the revised Tensioner

but other than that they are bullet proof

with the TFSI, they suffer from cam follower wear issues and pcv failing. It also needs an uprated fuel pump unlike the TSI engine

dunno for sure. you'll have to research it.

Either are both decent options for tuning.

Just had my tensioner and chain/guides done on my 2.0 tsi as I was unsure about the changeover date. Mine is registered June 2012 and it did have the updated tensioner fitted. Saying that they are now on revision 12 of it !!
