Scirocco 2.0 Bluemotion Tech GT (Diesel or Petrol?) HELP MUH

Post by Guinness »

Hi guys,

First time here! I am considering joining the Scirocco life.

So having done my research I am certain on getting a Scirocco 2.0 Bluemotion Tech GT (Manuel, diesel) 2012/2013 around 60k/70k miles.

My budget is £11,000

However! I need some knowledgeable advice...

My last car was a Honda Civic 05 1.6 VTec.... And well, I think I will miss the sound of that 3" exhaust!

Should I go for the 2.0 GT Petrol Manual Scirocco? Same year/miles as above. The non-dsg still sounda amazing from the Youtube videos.

Can anyone link me some sound videos or where I could find the manual petrol version? (UK wide, I live in Northern Ireland, doesn't seem to be any over here)

Also, the petrol version doesn't seem to come in Bluemotion, Tech? Just GT? Could be lack of variants for sale maybe.

Hope someone can help me decide!

Thanks for reading!

Welcome,

I got myself a 2.0TSI (200hp) 2009 DSG (63k km's) a few weeks ago for €11k just to give you an idea.

Shifting at 4k revs seems to be the sweet spot (fart) for me, the sound is really good even with everything stock.

I have previously had 56 and 13 plate Civic 1.8l vtec cars, they were very pokey and about 140hp.

Everything feels as solid as the Honda -gear change, steering etc but personally the VW is a class above the Honda and my first Civic was my favourite car until I got the Scirocco
