engine cover removal...

Sorry this is a really basic question. On my old 2.0tsi Sirocco the engine cover just popped off but on the R (face-lift) there are a load of pipes that seem to be dependent on the engine cover to complete their circuit. how do you take the cover off and run the car without the cover?

The intake is part of the engine cover on the TFSI Rocco R

You'd need an aftermarket intake
