Adding Bluetooth module?

Post by Lee170 »

I picked up my 09 scirocco yesterday at Norwich and drove 210 miles home, it was awesome, great car. It has dab radio but no Bluetooth, I've read on here that you can add the module to the wiring that's already in place under the drivers seat, is this correct?
If so how much will the module cost me?
Would I need to modify the radio?

Seems like radio has 6 cd changer on it, but it's not under the arm rest? Could this be in the actual head unit and I put all 6 cds through the one slot?

- the headunit will be an RCD510
- you will need the wiring loom as well as the Bluetooth module - about £150. You will also need to code VCDS.
- CD changer is built into the unit... i.e. load all 6 discs via the single slot. IIRC you need to select the disc slot on the display to load them all.

The RCD510 headunit has an integrated 6CD changer and yes you select each disc in turn to be inserted / ejected through the single slot.

Unless there already has been a Bluetooth Module under the seat there won't be any wrong so you would need the BT Module, Polystyrene Box and the wiring loom. There have been many posts on which module, the cost and how to retrofit so a quick search will furnish you with the information.

No need to do anything to the Headunit although the coding might need changing to bring up the phone menu within the MFD.
