Advice for first time slammer

Post by Bawbag »

Hi folks

I have just got myself an 11 plate R and am looking to lower it a wee bit mainly for the looks as much as the handling.I have never attempted a mod on any previous car so am just looking for some advise on the best way to go about it and which parts are the best from other users past experience.
I have the 19 inch wheels if that makes any difference.

Easiest and cheapest option is a set of H&R lowering springs which will drop it around 25mm-35mm and allow you to keep the DCC.

Well that is some contradiction, your post heading mentions slamming, but then you say you want it a wee bit lower

If you want a wee bit lower, then lowering springs are way to go

If you want in slamming, then there are 2 options, static lowering using coilovers (with or without DCC), or air bags so you can raise/lower the car at will, but both of these options have their advantages and disadvantages, and vary massively in cost, but that is a whole other discussion ;)
