Activate Bluetooth input and Stereo Options

Post by mooney88 »

Hi I just bought a Scirocco 2.0 TSI yesterday and im very happy with it! I have two questions though.

The only thing I wasnt really happy about was the stereo, it hasnt lived up to what I thought it would be.

It has Sat Nav, FM/AM, Traffic Updates, MIDI and AUX.

I went into setup and there was an option to activate Bluetooth but after I do nothing shows up on my Samsung S7 Edge. Is there something else I need to get for the stereo?

Also when I connect my phone via MIDI it does a Folder search which is rubbish if you are listening to your music via Spotify like I do.

The specs of the car was too good to turn down and I thought I would rather change the stereo.

In the future I am looking at replacing the stereo so it has DAB, FM/AM, Bluetooth, Phone Capabilities (SAT NAV and DVD optional, I can live without). I have seen the Kenwood but no stereo is worth 1000 quid! Can you advise a good stereo to suggest? Also my car has parking aid so will it still work with a new stereo?

Sadly mate, with spotify and your stuffed (as am i). Its better if you have bluetooth but in all honesty it sounds as if youve fallen into the trap we've all fallen into if we don't have it.

First of all, is yours a pre facelift (2009-2014?

If so there will be a box undet the drivers seat, very obvious and if theres not you probably dont have bluetooth installed.

However its not too tricky to install should you want to

Yeah it's one of the first models so I'm guessing pre face-lift. What does the box under the seat look like and if I don't have one where can I get one?

Its dark grey polystyrene mate, and its the first thing you see as you look down under the seat. Carsystems.pl do the kit you'll need, but you need to find someone with vagcom (on the forum there's plenty) who can activate it once installed. Plenty of helpful guides on here to help you install it too

Bloody hell proper pricey for a box. Might have to get a 3rd party stereo instead. I have a Bluetooth fm transmitter to keep me going.

Any good stereo suggestions?
