Hello guys,
Had the car just under a year now. It's a 60 plate MY11 1.4 160 Twincharger.
Recently, when under acceleration, the car accelerates as normal, and ever now and again, their is what I could only describe as a loss of power. It feels as though the car just stops accelerating and starts again. Now this only lasts for about a 1/4 of a second or so. So it's a very short amount of time but it's still noticeable.
I'm quite a new driver. Only had my license for a year so I'm quite a newbie when it comes to diagnosing and recognising problems and such, I've heard about all the horror stories concerned with this particular engine, and just though well, if it's gonna happen, it's gonna happen. Don't worry and enjoy the car. But now I feel that this could some how be connected to this?
The car has just rolled past 35k miles, and is due in for an MOT and Major service next month.
Any ideas guys?

It sounds like you're describing a misfire - which feels like a sudden coming off the gas and straight back on.
Is this happening under full/near full throttle runs?
If there are issues, these engines tend to misfire the most around 4000rpm on full boost (full throttle)

Yeah you've pretty much hit it bang on. This are pretty close to the conditions I'm feeling it. I'd read about the misfires on this engine, but never really knew what they felt like
