Rns 510

Post by T33beh »

I've upgraded my rns310 to the rns510. In my old deck I had Bluetooth Dab Nav etc. But this one I can understand no DAB, not too bothered about that, but no Bluetooth??
It's a 2008 model RNS510
Any ideas on how I get Bluetooth to work?
Thanks

Your RNS310 had integrated Bluetooth whereas the RNS510 does not and requires an additional module to be fitted, that is normally located under the driver's seat (RHD). A forum search will point you to the correct module, wiring harness and fitment.

Bluetooth is a separate module. if you have it, it will be located under the seat in a foam box.

If not, you can retrofit it fairly easily (i've done it myself). There are a number of guides on here how to do it, just have a search

EDIT - Cuprabob beat me to it! But if you have any questions about fitting it, feel free to pop me a message :)

The RNS310 didn't have DAB so you must've had an RNS315. That could've had DAB & Bluetooth built in. It's also possible that you had Bluetooth fitted under the drivers seat. If you have the module under the seat then you just need the RNS510 coded to work with the Bluetooth. No module under the seat, then you'll need to fit one.

Thanks for the replies guys I figured I'll have to get the Bluetooth module and retrofit it. I have no intention of doing so, so I'm just going to give this back and get a better one

There are no variants of the RNS510 with integrated Bluetooth so you are looking at an aftermarket unit like the Kenwood.
