Other than have a good, thorough look inside and underneath the engine bay i'm not sure what to suggest personally.
Best to inspect the whole car as best you can if you can get underneath mate.

Looks like an anti roll bar bush....has your car developed a knock over bumps?
Most scirocco's are all the same but some are different...

Cheers guys I'll have to go to a self service ramp place and have a look!

Weird thing is nothing feels or sounds any different! I'll check the anti roll bar though!

Very similar in that's it's rubber and got a hole in. Not very similar in that it's square not round on one end and the hole looks like it's been torn not made that way.

If you're doing 100 mph up the motorway and thrashing over bumps and potholes then come home and park stationary on the drive where would you expect something to fall off? I would think the drive is the last place, it may come loose on the road then fall off later but what's the chance?

Far more likely you've picked up some debris from another car or lorry and it's just fallen off on the drive.

I really wouldn't worry unless you have some other symptom.

Yeah I did think that, I do drive quite bumpy roads living in somerset on my way to work, I would of thought it would of fell of there if anything. VW also like to put part numbers on everything which makes me think it's also not off my car!
