Hi Roccos (is that the term for a Sciocco owner?)
Just thought I would introduce myself as I have just ordered a new R due date Dec 22nd "sigh" I have wanted one for the last 5 years and I remember the 80s original as a kid.
Any tips for me to fill the void between now and then?

Welcome to the forum and that's a nice Xmas present to yourself.
By the way the "original" Scirocco is from the 70s. The 80s one was the MK2.

Very similar. I have opted for dynaudio plus 90 tint. Pretty sure parking sensors standard on the R

Nice I did consider the tint too.
I Test drove a R-Line with a parking camera but I am told this is unavailable in the R so just the sensors then
Cruise control is a must for me as I have a old sports injury to my heel which gives me grief if held in the same position for a while.

Best of luck with your new R. Ordered mine 16/06/2015 and it was delivered in about Six weeks to the dealer. Delayed collection/registration until 1st Sept. Well pleased with mine as I'm sure you will be too.

Can you not wait another 8 days? Doubt you will drive it much over 24/25/26th then 31/1st etc,..
My R was 23/12/10 and I just can't quite understand why the original owner did not wait until 01/01/11 to make it a 2011 car
But then again, I can see your exictement and its a hard decision - good luck and enjoy!

Yes It was a hard decision not to wait as the retailer did give me the option but I have already waited over two months for it!
Not being a big drinker, and lots of visiting relatives to do (to show it off
) and the car is lease so I am not worried about the resale value so not many reasons to wait really.

It'll still be a 65 plate and a 2016 car, a few days won't make any difference to resale, in any case OP is leasing.
By that logic you'd be forever putting off collection for the sake of a few days/weeks.
Get it and drive it
