Glad I made the switch from French !
Glad I made the switch from French !
Hey all !
I am over the moon with my new purchase, now I had a ibiza dab edition before hand which is pretty much a vw, and before that was into my 106 gti, but these are on another level, feels like a man's car but with the ability to turn into a boys toy at any given time, the colour had me chucking my money at the dealers and walking out with a grin.
So as I'm new to the rocco world, what pointers can I be offered ? What subtle classy modifitions are recommended? what websites do you use for parts ? Or do you recommended leaving as intended to hold value ? What's the do's and don'ts !
Any advice given is appreciated cheers all

Welcome to the rocco community:)
Your car looks very nice, one of the best colors.
In terms of mods there are lots of possibilities, it really depends on what you are expecting from them:
Bodywork (looks)
- upgrading to r/r line front/rear bumpers;
- clean looks (de banging front/rear);
Suspension/rims/Mechanical stuff (handling):
- lowering springs/coilovers (the standard rocco has an almost suv arch gap);
- after market rims (lots of possibilities);
- alloy wishbones with adjustable ball joints (awesome upgrade in terms of steering feel);
- limited slip differential
- short shifter (it shortens the distances between gears - for manual gearbox);
Engine/exhaust (power)
- remap (gain of approx. 30-40 more hp);
- after market exhaust (resonated/ non resonated);
- after market induction kit;
Lighting (functional/looks):
- Front xenon headlights upgrade;
- Rear led taillights upgrade (after market);
And the list can go on forever )
Cheers

Thanks for the welcome !
Certainly some choices there, Yeh lowering is definitely a option my only thought is won't that mess with the pre set settings for the suspension in sport comfort ect. As I what im thinking is that it was programmed for the factory ride height !?
And particular recommended modification websites that most people are using ?
It has enough power for me for now haha

In terms of lowering spring possibilities, you can choose according to how low you want your car:
2 cm drop - Vw oem lowering springs (I have them on my car);
2,5/3 cm drop- eibach pro kit
3/ 3,5 cm drop- h&r
And the list can continue further on

Awesome GTI sell those springs. they're all VW approved too so are designed to work with OE parts. Come with certification to say they're a VW approved mod and won't invalidate any warranty.
