My May 2011 1.4 160 misfired (long story short) and needed a new engine at 60,000 miles. Will dissuade everyone from this engine!

Worries me, man! Mines running at 54k miles and no misfires... Yet. Feels like a time bomb!

Felt exactly the same after reading some stories on here. Was thinking about getting rid however the problems started soon after those thoughts. Has an engine from an auto with only 30,000 on now but looking to get a 2.0 TDi (same white, black leather!)

Man it worries me.. I got a new job today so I'm thinking of upgrading to a 2.0 asap, gonna get a test drive booked I think. Is the problem more common in the 7 speed auto? As I'm using a manual 6 speed :D

Well i have a 122 which i have just had back from my local VW garage with 4 new pistons, timing chain and 2 new camshafts due to someone fitting the high pressure fuel pump with parts missing causing the pump to disintegrate into the rocker cover damaging the cam shafts and that's after owning the car only 4 days !! so glad it was done under warranty
