R Exhaust tips, where to buy?
I just want new exhaust tips on their own, OEM, for the R.
At five years old they just can not be brought back shiny again.
Are VW the only people that are going to have them?
My searching thus far has been fruitless.

No but tried brillo pad with meguiars all metal polysh .
One exhaust tip is worse than other, seems practically ingrained with the chrome.
Not heard of those products before will have a gander.

The factory tips are brazed onto the pipe so not available as a separate part.
You'll need something like autosol to cut through the carbon deposits. Megs is brilliant at getting a nice shine once the main deposits have been sorted.

I've got the same problem, I've tried numerous methods including autosol but to no avail.. let me know if you find anything!
I'm looking at a new exhaust soon with carbon tips.. they won't have this issue lol!
I think your only option would be to get the tips re-stained with stainless steel.
Turn it down for what?

If you do this and it doesn't work i would be amazed, the tips on my previous car were baked on, 10 mins with 0000 wool and they were like new again. http://www.sciroccocentral.co.uk/forum/ ... 50#p167450" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Autosol is amazing stuff!
Tried it with a scouring pad and some stuff came off really easily.
I forgot the fine steel wool but I think it will do well on the tougher spots.
At least the bad zorst tip looks chrome again!

Good, don't discount the steel wool its finer than the scouring pad and you will get a smoother and shinier finish [emoji41]3t3p wrote:Autosol is amazing stuff!
