She Survived!

Post by stanj028 »

Last month me and a couple of my closest mates (all car enthusiasts) decided we would go across western Europe.

France, Belgium, Nuerburg, Stuttgart then all the way back to France then home!

Germany is my new favourite place, the Sciroccos out there are out of this world! And you get quite a lot of looks and appreciation from other owners, which I didn't expect, you would have thought because they made them that they would find them boring!

Yes... I did 'The Ring' and will be posting an image of a scirocco r gunning me down shortly!

I really didn't want to put my car in the ring but the petrol head in me said its something you have to do one in your life.

My 1.4 TSI 160 was right at home and the performance on the track impressed me somewhat.

Forgetting the ring, the general driving back roads in Germany are spectacular and being an a scirocco made my trip a whole lot better! Pop her in comfort mode on some of the longer motorway trips and I returned an average 38 to 42MPG which isn't all that bad considering Auto Bahns..... Just saying!

I had the best fuel consumption across the trip!

OH and you don't think Sciroccos are big? Me and my friends agree with the whole 'top gear present' idea so I managed to get a HUGE inflatable whale all the wag home from Germany to Dover! Much to the funny looks of French police!.

Good Trip, Great Company, Perfect road and the seemingly correct choice of car for the trip!

We want to do it again but go further into Europe! So I guess watch this space!

Pictures to follow!

Getting hunted down by an aggressive VW R, he did give me a nod of approval however!

Thinking of inveating in a 8'6" inflatable whale? No problem for a scirocco

Offroading in a scirocco? No worries!

Hey johnson the houses are for 5 people (but we had 8 shhh!) It worked out at about 20 pound a night each, you also wake up to the sound of the ring in the distance, its an amazing feeling! Will ask my friend what the housing area was called

You will love it mate, enough room in the drives to fit 3 cars, we had 5 cars and still not a problem!

Love the whale idea haha. Got a Euro trip booked myself this year and have a massive 6 country trip in the planning for next year.

Was there many idiots on the ring when you went. I'm reluctant as don't want my car smashed into, Iv heard so many horror stories.

Cheers

Jo that's awsome we want to go on anlinger trip too!

If your worried, stick to the right and let the porches overtake (undertake) sounds weird I have singled out porches but when your on the track you will see what I mean! The corners are very blind and random so take with caution your first ever time!
