Re: Cleaning engine bay
Hi Paddy
Surprised my old pal WD hasn't got here first - to the victor the spoils i guess :-)
Cleaning the engine bay - can be tricky but not daunting. When i do mine I cover the alternator (just google it for what it looks like but its got openings in the casing and various wires and stuff coming out) I use tin foil as it moulds very easily. Then an application of a universal cleaner such as AutoSmart G101 mixed to 1:8 with deionised water and a long bristled detailing brush to get into the nooks and crannies and printed plastic - like the washer bottle top, then rinse with a hose or pressure washer with the power turned WAY down - be very gentle with this stage but don't be frightened of it - wash off the G101 & all the gunk then squirt liberally with Auto Finesse Dressle or other such product (dressle is good stuff though). Run up your engine for 5-10 minutes to throughly dry out buff the dressle if you like & stand back and enjoy. Don't forget to take the tin foil off after washing down though !
