Rear Park Sensors - slow

Post by siony1974 »

Does anyone find the Rear Park sensors a bit slow to kick in after selecting reverse?

If I'm in a bit of a hurry, I've found that sometimes I've already reversed out and got back into 1st gear before the screen even starts to bleep. The screen then sometimes stays on for a bit even when moving forward.
I'm not reversing out at a rate of knots either and the engine is allowed time to tick over before I start. I think if I was relying just on the screen, sometimes I would have hit a car/wall/child before it had made up its mind to start bleeping.
As there is no green light or indicator on the screen to say its warmed up and ready to sense Roc wrecking material I don't always have the greatest confidence in it.
Is there a setting to reduce this start up time or to increase the sensitivity of the sensors so they work earlier?

Sounds like a problem with the unit. Mine comes on instantly that reverse is selected (and stays on a little too long after I drive away). Dealer visit me thinks

The rear park screen with the car on it comes up instantly after selecting reverse, I just find the actual sensing part seems a bit slow to kick in. I don't think there is anything wrong with the sensors, it might just be me being a bit impatient.
