P2263 Turbocharger/supercharger Boost System Performance

Post by m7cpk »

Can anyone help me on this please??

I was on a 80 mile round trip on the motorway in my 1.4 TSI (2009) Rocco and around 70 mile into the journey I noticed the engine management light was on. I pluged my diagnostic reader in and got this error code - P2263 Turbocharger/supercharger Boost System Performance. I have cleared the code to see if it would come back on but nothing as of yet and since clearing the code I have done 30 miles or so. Not sure if this can be caused by the terrible weather I was driving in as it was windy and raining. Cars performance seems the same so no change there just a little scary when i seen the words turobo/supercharger come up on the error code.

Only bought this car 3 weeks ago and had noticed when putting the foot down after a few seconds I feel a drag then more power kicks in but is that just normal turbo lag ? Or should i not feel that because its also supercharged? I notice this more when on the motorway or on an open road where i can put my foot down.

Any help or advice very much appreciated guys.

Thanks in advanced

Hi, I am thinking about investing in a code reader to reset various errors that may occur,if you don't mind me asking what are you using?

Cheers,

I would be interested to hear what people have to say about this because I thought having a supercharger and a turbo meant no lag.

What else does your code reader do?

My 1.4 CAV just gave me the P2263 error yesterday, and I can feel it when driving. When I put the foot down to speed up (let's say when leaving town) and the turbo kicks in, the acceleration is not smooth, but jerky. At first I thought that maybe the clutch is slipping when the revs go up fast, but then I got the "check engine" light, and after checking the OBDII code it made more sense that it's in the turbo. It feels like the turbo is losing pressure, so maybe there's an air leak somewhere, not sure. I'm going to call my service guy today, I wonder what they'll find out. Anyway, I made about 350km after the error came up, and the car is doing all right. The problem comes up only when I really step on it and the turbo gets a strong kick.
