Had it since it was released. Love it.
I'm running apr stage 2+ at the moment and it suits it very well.
The manual shifting is just waaay faster than stock.

Before the flash I used mostly manual mode because of the useless D mode but now the new D mode behaves just as I would use the car in manual mode (cruising around town). So the new D is one of the best features for sure.

I don't use S mode at all. If I feel like giving it some, I just put it in manual.

Can't let your comment about Drive being unusable stand without commenting. Drive is designed for general use and what most people want when they're not in press-on mode is economy so it goes into sixth as soon as it can. Well designed, good for what it is intended for and above all usable in your words for most people.
Can't help thinking the standard Sport setting does exactly what your Drive does after the remap.
Perhaps if you had tried Sport rather than just ignoring it you wouldn't have needed a remap. Then you would have had Drive as an option when you weren't in press-on mode. And still have manual for maximum-attack mode too.

A remapped Drive mode is definitely not the same as the stock sports mode. Couldn't be further from the truth.
I understand it is for general use, but the stock design drops the revs stupid low asap. Some say it's good for emissions, but it's def not helping with the milage.
The remapped D-mode has nothing to do with press-on mode. That is still done in manual mode. The remapped D is just a much smoother day-to-day experience overall.
Obviously I have tried and used the stock sports mode.

But that was even less usable running around town. The remapped sports mode made it actually a lot more civil. But this depends on the level of engine tuning as the different modes also takes into account the upgraded torque curves.
Perhaps you should try a mapped DSG before commenting about things you obviously don't have any experience about.
APR does trials for their remaps in UK as well I guess, might do for the DSG too. So go get it remapped, drive around for 30 days, flash it back to stock and THEN come back telling everyone here that the remapped D-mode is basically like the stock S-mode. Sorry, but before you do that, your comments about a remapped DSG are worth zero.

Kiln I, how much longer does the APR map hold the gears in D mode, I always felt it shifted too soon in its rush to reach 6th gear when on a light throttle. Even in standard form it does seem to adapt well though, give it a little more load and it does hold on to the gears longer.

So basically it will stay in the current gear until the TCU thinks you will run out of decent amount of torque. I can only say that it feels perfect now. The new d-mode tends to change gear with normal load at 2100-2300rpm. I'm running stage 2+ at the moment but I had the DSG map when the car was stage 1 and it felt just as good but can't remember if the shifts occured earlier or later.
There have been some rare occations (driving at 50mph for long distances) where I would rather stay in 6th than 5th. In this case I just press + and the car stays in 6th even after it goes back to D-mode (pressing + in d-mode will jump to manual but jumps back after some time) and even if I slow down a bit etc. So it's not stupid.

I personally feel that 1900-2200rpm is a decent point to be at, running around town.
EDIT: I went for a drive to verify where the gear changes occur in D-mode. Edited my post accordingly.

I have a dsg stage 2 remap, I prob prefer it over stock it's hangs on to gears a lot better and it's not just rushing to get into 6th gear every time possible plus there's no kickdown
