Scirocco 2009 MDI to iphone5s

hi everyone, hope some one can help, i have a 2009 scirocco and my i phone 5s is not recognised. when i bought the car it had a iphone 4 mdi cable in, bought an adaptor from a 4 to 5s but this did nothing so bought a brand new mdi 5s cable, this now connects to stero but says device not recognised, have read up on a few posts on the forums and tried to update the firmware,by downloading to a memory stick and using the mdi to usb cable, but with no success. hope someone can help.

Have you to the correct iphone 5 mdi cable? There are at least a couple VW do that I know of, 1 will only work in a golf and the other will work for the scirocco

Hi rob, we have just got it to work, we have a green cable, it wasnt workin on any of the firmware updates , then we realised we were not using the correct flash drive and had read on a forum you had to rename the folder once you had downloaded it. We got it working using one of the 2011 firmware updates. Thanks for the reply mate.
