What fuel to use

Post by flashash »

Hi. I just wondered what fuel you guys recommend using in the r. With so many about hard to choose. Ie regular unleaded. V power. Momentum. Cheers

I ran it on shell normal unleaded 95 for the first 4 months. Then tried it on v-power and got what felt like better performance and also a good increase in mpg. The increase in mpg more than offset the increased cost so the increased performance is free! So been on v-power ever since.

I rock V-power exclusively pretty much.

BP ultimate is £1.56/l?!

I'm sure momentum is good too.

Just bear in mind the fuel flap does say 98 RON on it:D

I've been using Tesco Momentum and see better mpg than standard stuff. Also you get the added bonus of fuel save if you shop there, this month I have 20p per litre saving so I'll be paying £1.10 per litre!!!

I use momentum, I've data logged it on a stage 2 map on my previous car and it logs extremely well, very minimal timing pull on WOT near Max revs :-)

That's two votes for momentum. It is 99 Ron as is v power. BP texaco are 97 Ron. Not sure if it makes much difference but as 3t3p says fuel flap says to use 98. Ron.

Could be coincidental, but I fancy not, that for the few first few months of my life with my used Roc I had a slight misfire at idle, and which would sometimes be enough to shake the car, especially after a bit of a run; but after using V-Nitro for several months the misfire went and has never come back.

I shop at Tesco, what criteria do you need for money off like that?!

Mind you, I barely have time what with driving to work and stuff I just pull into shell on the way usually and amass points that net me nothing haha

Every time u spend £50 you earn 2p off per litre and you build it up over the month to a max of 20p. Needs to he used each month.

I have been wondering the same! Is it really better for the car to use v-power, or v-power nitro+? If it is, then i'd definitly do it!

I only use v power now so have no comparison since getting new car. I did find it better using the v power diesel in my tdi though.
