Hi all, my first post so big hello to all! I've owned my Scirocco 2.0 tsi for about 6 months now and love every minute driving it. I've been a bit of a silent watcher on this site but time for my first post.
So my problem... The car had a full service about a month ago (coils, plugs, filters all replaced) and has been going great since. However was driving it yesterday and it developed an annoying problem. There seems to be a lag now from idle to around 2000 rpm. Once it gets passed this range it takes off as normal. The engine is idling perfect at 700rpm and not making any jolts or noises and there's no warning lights showing, just this hesitation at low rpm. If it makes any difference, I noticed the problem just after giving it a big 2nd gear pull.
Just wondering if anyone has experienced this before or if anyone could help with the diagnosis? Any help would be much appreciated.

I get this all the time! with my Gt 2.0tsi.
Not investigated it yet! Just letting you know your not alone!
Hopefully someone else will have solved this!

Re: Engine Hesitation at Low RPM
All got gradually worse yesterday... EPC light came on... lost more power... revs started jumping at idle.
Long story short, its in the garage now and hopefully will all be better soon (and not expensive!)

Re: Engine Hesitation at Low RPM
Readings were showing up as throttle valve fault so cleaned out the throttle unit and was perfect again, no part changes or anything. Looks like it was just dirt in the throttle, have it back zooming around the roads again and didnt leave any holes in my wallet... phew!

Re: Engine Hesitation at Low RPM
My scirocco hesitates (more like a stumble) at around 1800 RPM under light acceleration and I go through a litre of oil every 4,000 miles. Hopefully, just like in your scenario, the hesitation can be sorted out by just cleaning the throttle body. If you don't mind me asking - Does your Scirocco burn oil as well?

Ye mine is the same, pretty heavy on oil as well. Might be worth having your throttle cleaned out, mine was filthy. If its the same problem that I was having then its a simple solution to an annoying problem.
