Can this signify a fuse problem?
My left day time running bulb blew ages ago. I wasn't able to get the cover of so left it for my annual service. They replaced the bulb for me and then it went again 6 days later.
I'm going to have another go at removing the cover then replacing the bulb, but I'm fully expecting the bulb to blow again with days of fitting a new one. Could this be a symptom of a bad fuse?
Cheers

Re: Repeatedly blowing bulb
Not that I think it makes any difference, but its the front left parking light bulb that keeps going (incidently, these bulbs are always on which is why I thought they were DLRs) !
I just tried again but I still can't get the damn cover off. The manual says lift it up then pull out to the side in one motion. All the clips release on one side but its held fast at the top and it won't come away. I don't want to pull too hard in case I break the clips.
It's not exactly the most important bulb on the car but the symbol on the dashboard annoys me!

Look on youtube mate, theres a video showing you how to get the cover off and change the bulb. I can change a bulb now in about 3 minutes for each side as my LED's keep failing

It's not the fuse.
Put another new bulb in and see how it goes.

Re: Repeatedly blowing bulb
More likely to be down to the quality of the bulb. Definitely not the fuse.

Look on youtube mate
I watched a couple of videos.. had a go and released more of the cover but still no joy. I watched another video afterwards so I'll try that again tomorrow.

I would have thought that the dealer would use OEM bulbs! I usually just go to Halfords (http://www.halfords.com/motoring/bulbs- ... -bulbs-x-2) but are there any recommendations on where best to source normal OEM bulbs?

Re: Repeatedly blowing bulb
I know it's a bit of an old thread, but I thought I'd post the outcome anyway!
Basically, I had to replace the whole unit. When I eventually worked out how to remove the unit and went to replace the bulb, I found the remains of a previous bulb melted to the contacts. My excellent VW garage has obviously just put a new bulb in without looking to closely.
The bulb I put in my new unit has worked perfectly since I replaced it over a year ago!
