Bonnet Alighment New 1.4TSI
I have just noticed for the first time that the bonnet on my 1.4 TSI is out of alignment on the drivers side overlapping the wing by approx 6mm, on the passenger side it is ok almost flush with the wing. the car is just 10 weeks old with less than 500 miles on the clock. I can't believe that I have not noticed this earlier but also cannot understand why this car was ever allowed to leave the VW factory like this. I will be bringing the car back to the dealer to have this looked at and will insist that the fault be correctd. As it looks at the moment it resembles a botched body repair job and I would have a hard job trying to convince a potential buyer if I decided to sell the car that it was not in a accident. This is my first VW car and the myth that German car quality is superior is just a load of adulterated nonsense as far as I am concerned.

Hi there, your not the only one with this issue as I recently bought a 10plate scirocco a few weeks ago and noticed the Bonet was out of alignment a few days later, I rang up the previous owner who said he never noticed himself and swore that the car had never been involved in an accident so it must of been manufactured like it! Ill be interesting to hear how you get on, although I doubt they will accept any blame on a 4 year old car :/

That is so weird . Was about to buy an 11 plate one last week and this exact issue out me off it . Mechanic that was with me thought someone had hit it out of alignment , but obviously not .
