Well having owned my Scirocco now for nearly 18 months and loved every minute of it, the time has come for me to move on. After much deliberation on what to go for next and test driving lots of cars from the MK7 Golf GTi and R to the Audi S3 and BMW M135i, I have placed an order for the new Seat Leon Cupra 280 and am expecting delivery at the end of June. The car completely blew me away on a recent test drive and the amount of equipment you get as standard is truly phenomenal for the price. Although I feel bad about parting from the ROC I am just glad I found an excellent replacement within the VAG group.
I will have a few bits for sale closer to the time of picking up my new car, including premium carpet mats, metal pedals and boot liner which will be advertised on here. Just wanted to say a huge 'Thank You' to everybody on the forum for all your posts and excellent advice. This is by far the best car forum I have ever had the pleasure of being a member of and will miss reading through the threads.

Re: Another one bites the dust!
I never thought I'd have a SEAT and was really interested in the MK7 Golf GTi but the new Cupra is a very similar car with identical handling only with that bit of extra pace that I felt the Golf was lacking.

So are you going for the 5-door or the 3-door SC?? I quite like the look of the SC to be honest...

Re: Another one bites the dust!
I have gone for the 3 door Cupra 280 SC with DSG in Monsoon Grey. I've also added the optional side skirts just to finish the look off. Only ordered two weeks ago, which have gone very slowly, and have another ten weeks to go yet. Sure it'll be worth the wait though and will be sure to post some photo's when I get it. Still gonna miss the ROC though :-(Ozmosis wrote:So are you going for the 5-door or the 3-door SC?? I quite like the look of the SC to be honest...

Re: Another one bites the dust!
Would be really interested to hear your thoughts when you've driven the Cupra mate. Was really interested in the Golf R and Audi S3, and really loved the way they drove. Thought the Cupra had a slightly more 'fun to drive' aspect to it but the Golf/S3 had by far the better interior finish. They are all very good cars and had money been no object then I may have gone for the Golf/S3, but the amount of standard equipment you get on the Cupra combined with the nice level of discount I achieved through a broker meant there was a HUGE price difference between the three and made it a no brainer.wigit wrote:my local SEAT dealer has a more door in so going to take it for a spin in a week to see how it compares to the R
Found it very frustrating too how much VW charge for factory fitted upgrades, e.g. £1700 for full leather on the golf with a reduced price then on the winter pack, £700 for full leather on the Cupra and winter pack is included for free. They are all the same company using the same parts so why the huge variation?!
