Donningtons which were standard on the 1.4 really don't appeal to me, but I would be cutting a lot of cars out of my search for the sake of a set of wheels.
VW don't list them on the website, so what's the best way of getting hold of a set?

You can buy them from VW or TPS but they are expensive at around £350 per wheel. They are not on the website as they are not an accessory wheel but OEM fitment.
If you really want them, best pick up a set second hand via one of the usual channels. You do need to be careful as there.are many cheap replicas kicking about
