I quite like the potential new one.
It's a bit more meaty looking and a bit more..... interesting.
It's possibly a little bit ott on the buttons though.

I'm a fan of the original (with GT badge )
I think it looks neat and too the point. Much like the Roc in general.
I don't really like the red stitching either on the facelift.

Re: Which wheel is wheely gwreat ?!
The original for sure. My mom has a Mk6 Golf (not a GTI with the sporty wheel, I know, but still) and the wheel just feels so much more plasticy and cheaper. I'll reserve my final judgement untill I drive the new GTI.
The old Mk5 wheel had a more solid feel and looks less tacky.
I guess I'll have to make do with the new one if I ever get to scrape together enough money for one of these things anyway.

Has to be the facelift for me as the original look too much like the mkv GTI, which after 3 years of driving a would be a nice chage

I'm guessing one issue might be that there are more buttons on the new one so the wiring won't be there.

i think that there shouldn't be a big issue. at the very worst there will need to be a few extra bits of wired soldered to the CANBUS controller (i think this is the correct term...)Kev wrote:I'm guessing one issue might be that there are more buttons on the new one so the wiring won't be there.
all the software should work with the new wheel as there isn't any difference with the hardware from the prefacelift to the facelift model.
