Vw Fixed price service plan

Post by Roa »

Done a wee search but couldn't find anything about this, my car is 3 years old now and the dealer offered me a new 2 year service plan minus Mots for £359 just wondering if anyone else has this and is it worth the money?

I have done this recently, it included (for me) 2 services plus MOT for £379. I think it's worth it. Well, for me it will be, cos I will get a 40k service, a minor service and an MOT out of it. Not too bad

I take the reason for only 1 MOT is due to timing as the plan covers 2 services and 2 MOTs over a 24 month /20k mile period

Yeah.. Mine's approaching it's third birthday very soon too and I'm probably going to take out a new warranty as well..dunno if I will get much back in the value for money stakes as it is a low mileage vehicle but I reckon that official VW stamp in the book will be better to have in the long run than a M.O.T stamp from say "Jim's discount services" and the like lol.. From what I've read here and elsewhere having the official VW service history stamps kinda offset the cost if and when it comes to selling up.. So I think our hands are somewhat tied really..

I guess it depends how long you are keeping it. I, personally just like a main dealer (if trustworthy) to sort out my car; 'cos they often know what to do most of the time. By the time I decide to sell my car, it might be 8 years old, in which case it wont hold much value anymore.

MOT can be done anywhere, same thing really! but if it will be cheaper adding on an MOT to your service plan, might as well do that

Beware guys that VW have just re-costed the service plans and they are now available only on a pay monthly basis from £16/mth. Sadly they no longer represent the bargain they used to - particularly the discounted ones with the Solutions finance package....

I've spoken to vw today and was told that the £379 deal which includes MOTS has been stopped as of the end of February. Now the deal is £359 with no Mots.

Makes sense with what Mark V said! Thanks for that info S.

I guess I am one of the lucky ones who got the last deal through! Really chuffed that the lady persuaded me to take it now :). I'd say go for it Roa, especially if you get a 40k service out of it too.

Does anyone know if the Fixed Price Service deals include the DSG oil change (every 40k) - read conflicting info. My dealer says not included but all the particulars say "covered for all of Volkswagen-recommend servicing"

I don't believe DSG oil change is included, especially if the service plan is exactly the same cost as a manual, then you can almost guarantee that the DSG oil change will be extra.

I was offered today £400 for one major and one minor service, including 2 MOTs.

Good deal?
Still going strong =)
