Looking for confirmation on a few topics that have baffled me due to information received.
I rang a revo dealer today to enquiring about a stage 1 remap and he asked if the cambelt had been replaced at 4 years first of all as part of checks he would do before installing the software and also whether the car had the uprated diverter valve which was released in 2009 I believe? Have both of these been important in peoples experience for ensuring safety of the car as I don't want to run any risk of damaging the car and want the job done properly, he seemed of the same opinion to me..?
Having only purchased the car in October past I was unsure of what exactly had been carried out during servicing over the last 5 years (All at main dealers).
From ringing them for this information I was told that the cambelt had not been changed by them but also that this model has a chain rather than a belt which don't require the major service change.. This was conflicting to what I had previously thought so could anyone clear up whether this model has a timing chain or belt for me?
The model is a 2008 2.0 TSI, I have a maintenance check that states the engine code is CAWB if this helps?
Thanks in advance
