Not online but quite favourable. They say 168bhp version coming in June.

Will probably go 1.4 TSi though.

Yep, was good to see that it's basically a good car even if the Petrols are better. :)

Company Car tax cost (from comcar.co.uk) would be £110, £62 and £65 per month respectively for 2.0 TSi, 1.4 TSi and 2.0 TDi for me (assuming £2000 options over list price for each). Plus roughly £30-40 extra per month (fuel, insurance etc.) for the 2.0 TSi over the other two (fuel costs for which are within £5 of each other for me on 11K miles). So I'm waiting to try the 1.4 TSi right now...obviously re-reading the above makes me feel like a skinflint :)

Agree - a good read... stood in Asda for 5 mins reading it over the weekend (I was slumming it ;) )

Interesting to see pics of the centre console as it's different to the TSI... for example the ACC is on the console as opposed to in front of the gearstick... it seems to be a different colour console to the TSI too...

My TDI has the ACC in the same place and the centre console is the same colour from what I can see of TSI cars. Only difference is I have the light coloured headlining and not the dark one. I'll need to have a look at the pictures in that magazine when I'm passing a shop.

Wait a minute...you mean to say the Deep Black TDI's have not got black headlining...or did you ask for the light coloured one in yours, my cars due in about a week or so and it had better have black headlining or there will be one hell of a row in the dealers...

A quick question please, did it say the 170-TDi was coming 'as well as' the 140-TDi, or as a replacement. I don't suppose it mentioned a guide price?

Sorry, I can't find a copy of the magazine locally. :(

I didn't ask for a light coloured headlining, it's what it came with. I'm sure someone on here said it's just the 2.0 TSI GT that gets the black headlining. I'm quite happy with mine as it lightens the interior.

If that's the case thats a deal breaker with my car, one of the reasons I liked the Scirocco was the black headlining, the dealer never mentioned anything about the TDI having a light coloured headlining, three months wait and I've just sold my car....OH NOOOOOOO...

I have neither leather nor a pano roof on my car, so that might make a difference on the colour of the rooflining. Has your car arrived at the dealers yet?

That's the million Dollar question, When I get the phone call the car has arrived at the dealers I'll be down there like a shot to see what the story is...I hope its OK though... :scared:

Black paint, black leather, tinted sunroof and side windows surley it won't have a light coloured headlining it just wouldn't look right...

ABN1C,

I'am still waiting on a phone call telling me its arrived, hopefully next week... :hyper:

Quite a fair review I thought. I was pleased to see 0-60 time more in line with what I'd expected, rather than waht the VW website now says. When I researched my car before buying, the VW website performance figures had it down as 8.4s to 60mph, just 0.1 slower than the figures for the Ibiza, but for some reason VW have changed the website and put the TDI in at 9.3 for 0-60.

I thought it a little mis-leading that the article didn't state what "options" were fitted to their test car. The data says it's got about a £1000 worth of options, but that doesn't look right to me. Sat nav and multifunction steering wheel should add more than that. Also seems odd that the car has a highline computer where mine only has the midline. Do you get highline if you go for the multifunction steering wheel? The can't-be-arsed salesmen (that I had the misfortune to deal with) knew nothing about what came with what when you're trying to spec the car you're going to buy...

I thought it was the model that affected headlining - the GTs have dark, and the non GTs have light headlning, read that somewhere, can't remember where.
