Thinking of buying a scirocco , so many questions!!!!
Unread postby Cejsmith » Sat Dec 14, 2013 6:42 pm
I'm thinking of buying a scirocco and I've started looking at a few but I have a few questions.
1. Is the 177 and better engine than the 170.
2 what sort of mpg do people get out of a 170/177 dsg
3. Is the any differences between the big and little sat navs screen systems ( apart from size!!)
4 is the 170 easy to remap.
5. Are there any problems I should look out for?
Any help and advices is great fully recived , this would be my first vw since I had a couple of mk1golf gti !!

The 170 & 177 will be the same engine with a minor software modification - so they will be very much the same to drive, make the same sounds and probably almost identical economy too.
Can't help with the DSG economy but my manual does 55mpg on a steady 70mph run using cruise control.
Don't have a sat nav, but I know the RNS510 sat nav is very good
Yes the 170 can be mapped by quite a few tuners now. Expect about 200bhp.
No real problems to look out for, check out the buyers guide on here for more tips
