Depends on whether you intend to buy it at the end. If its a PCP i cant see any probs unless your going to be handing it back.

Well mine is a straight lease. So it will be getting handed back in three years. At which point the leasing company will ping it straight to auction. So I'm definitely going to do a couple of bits and pieces (mostly copying your mods Candymonster!)

I may well change the wheels at some point but if I do I'll probably just flog the ones that come with the car. The leasing company won't care even if they notice.

Dare say you could sell them, fit 19s and buy some cheapo golf 17s in 3 years time. Keeping your 19s for your next car or selling them on.

Yeah I'm in this position... I would like a body kit but the lease thing is stopping me, I don't think it could simply be taken back off after 3 years - if so I probably would, as then I could sell them on
Wheels are a no no for me as the lease includes maintenance so don't think they wouldn't notice different size (more expensive) tires going on every 6 months (or whatever)

Only thing I've done is change the bulbs and steering wheel GT badge

I was told in no uncertain terms by my leasing company that no modifications could be made whatsoever, i have added sills and pedal caps, but that is the extent i can get away with, no bodywork or wheel mods allowed

Same as mate, same as The sills, gearstick & pedals were added at my own cost by the dealer & leaseplan were made aware.

I might do the GT steering wheel thing though... I've got it for 4 years so may as well do the subtle ones...

I don't see why a chip should be any problem as I reckon most companies would (for a price) re-flash the ecu to standard. Also if you were buying/leasing another car they should also reload if it were compatible. I know that most tuners register the unique program number to the chasis number of the car, but this is only to prevent fraud so once you have paid you license fee surely you are free to swap cars?? Theoretically it should be possible just depends if the tuner wants to 'go there'.

Only if you are paying for a service package and if liek me and like most lease options you are doing 10k miles per year or less, you;re better off paying for servicing yourself.

Not an option for me, service package must be taken,..surely they would know if it had been remapped when they service it?? if not then..wayhay!

Get Bluefin & then swap back to stock map before going in for a service

ive had several lease cars VW with the maintenace package, most been remapped they don.t check for this , i would even be surprised if they change the god dam oil these days!!!!lol!!!!!

Don.t worry get it mapped been through tyres and all sorts for years never said nothing to me and thats several different vw garages and randomers

I'm in a similar situation. Mines will be a 3 year business contract hire when i get it but plan to do some subtle mods. Would LOVE to upgarde the performance but always a bit apprehensive about warrenty ect. I don't think the lease company would like that too much so the mods will be exterior ect.

I wonder how much the "Rocc" would be after 3 years. My Electric orange ST2 with 140,000 miles was offered to me for £4990!!!

Same as mate, same as The sills, gearstick & pedals were added at my own cost by the dealer & leaseplan were made aware.

Leaseplan?? Fulton?? I must have cost them an absolute fortune in tyres at £180 a pop (Focus ST). God know how many tyres i've been through and i'm sure Leasplan will be glad to see the back of me lol. Think my next car is coming from Alphabet
