RCD 510 not reading SD Cards...

Hi guys,

Just wondering if anyone knows a reason why my RCD 510 can't read SD Cards, just says "Error" when I put them in. I've tried formatting in Fat32 etc and gone from an SD HC 4gig card to a standard blue cheapy one and nothing works. I've simply dragged a few MP3's onto it to test, does it need to be in folders?

The system is quite frustrating as it also doesn't get AM for 5-Live sport coverage but VW say no error codes show so they'd have to pull the car apart to check :\

If you are running old firmware the maximum card size is 2GB, also when putting music on you need to create a parent folder then put all your albums etc in that as sub folders.

Ive been having same problem with mine. Its a 2010 model. Altho mine does pick up AM radio. Can you upgrade the firmware or not?

It is not possible to upgrade the firmware on the RCD 510 but you can upgrade the firmware on the MDI interface. Won't help with the SD card issue but might help with pairing devices. The link is here. Just download the file to a usb stick and then attach to the MDI interface. Do not try to read the file as this will corrupt it.
