Hello all. Recently i've fitted a forge twintake, milltek cat-back and stage 1 remap to my Rocco R. (320bhp)
since the work the car has run great, accept i seem to be hearing some noise coming from the engine bay which is beginning to worry me a bit.
when I am in a high gear, say 4th or 5th and accelerate, once the revs hit the turbo I can hear a loud screeching sound coming from the engine bay. Is that normal?
if anyone could shed some light on this that would be great. cheers

Sounds like a good old fashioned drive belt slipping that you used to hear. Was usually under acceleration also. Sorry but I have no idea what is belt driven on the Roc R. Too lazy to lift the bonnet. In the good old days it came from the dynamo....... Jeez how old am I and why do I still have to work?samdehaan wrote:Hello all. Can you better describe the screeching noise?
Is it mechanical such as a bearing or could it be a boost leak?
You've disturbed quite a lot of parts in the engine bay with the twintake, etc. I'd retrace your steps and check for either:
a) something that could be catching or rubbing on a pulley as the engine rocks back under acceleration.
b) check the hoses and make sure one of the jubilee clips from the twintake hasn't chaffed against a boost pipe and made a hole or a boost pipe hose clip is loose.
c) is the dump valve holding pressure? Whip it off and check the diaphragm isn't split.

Im starting to have some similiar sound too, but can only hear it at low rpms like 1000-2000. Does sounds like a supercharger haha but not as loud.
Could be the drive belt bearing or something like that but can't belive it's going down when the car has made 25000km.
